Let’s get started!

Average Digital Salaries by age bracket

We typically break down average digital salaries by age brackets, and in 2024, we’ve seen increases in every category!

  • Professionals aged 24 and under got a minimal boost of 0.9%, now making an average of £35,833 – not too shabby! It might seem like a small increase, but it’s a win for those starting out in the digital world of work.
  • The 25 – 35 category received a slightly larger increase of 2.9%, bringing their average to £61,384.
  • Things really picked up for the 36 – 45 group, jumping 5.4% to an impressive £79,783.
  • However, the 46+ group weren’t so lucky. They received the lowest increase of the group – only a 0.6% increase from last year, landing at £84,148 on average.

It’s great to see everyone receiving a salary increase, but it seems that the digital industry is focusing its investments primarily on mid-level professionals, rather than those just starting out or further along in their careers.

Average Digital salaries throughout the years

Moving on to digital salaries over the past few years, we’ve observed an overall increase here too.

2024 digital salary increases

As evident from the data, although there was growth from 2022 to 2023, the leap from last year is notably more substantial. This suggests that the digital industry is moving in the right direction towards fair and increasing compensation!

How did salaries change in the last 12 months?

We asked our respondents to share how their salaries have changed over the past year.

Just over half of our respondents (54%) noted an increase in their salary, while 40% reported no change, and only 6% experienced a decrease. Interestingly, last year, only 4% reported a salary decrease. This prompts the question: are digital professionals striving to maintain job security, perhaps even accepting pay cuts to do so?

Is it what you expected?

Are you surprised with the 2024 digital salary review? While it indicates a predominantly positive trend towards fair and increasing compensation, there are instances where salaries appear to be fluctuating.
