Some of what you will be doing:

  • Arranging, running and analysing user research.
  • Working with the insight team and data scientists
  • Working closely with the front-end development team, UX Designers and Product team
  • Championing user research and validation and expressing its importance
  • Recruiting and interviewing appropriate candidates for user research
  • Planning and carrying out effective interviews and user test sessions
  • Suggesting the most appropriate evaluation methods
  • Recommending and assisting in design experiments
  • Measuring usability through System Usability Scale
  • Choosing the most appropriate format for sharing events ad recommendations
  • Developing, and sharing processes and best practices, supporting colleagues to carry out their own analysis

 

Ideally, your skills and experience will include:

  • A deep understating of Human-Centered Design and Design Thinking
  • Degree educated or equivalent experience in human behavior-related fields
  • Extensive experience conducting and planning usability studies and field studies
  • Practiced with a range of user research techniques: interviews, usability tests, A/B testing
  • Ability to conduct both generative and evaluative research
  • Experience validating customer value propositions
  • Presentation and communication skills
  • A deep empathy and the ability to build rapport with your target users
  • Ability to gather, analyse and discerningly assess user data through web analytics, user surveys, search and weblogs, support calls and research interviews
  • Experience creating and maintaining design personas, empathy maps and customer journey maps

  • Experience working in the publishing industry or with value streams

Position: Senior Layout Designer/Design Manager

Location: Suffolk - Hybrid, 2 days in office

Salary: £70,000 With £7,000 Car Allowance

My client, a rapidly growing independent property developer recently acquired by a private equity firm, is searching for a Senior Layout Designer/Design Manager to join their award-winning design team. The successful candidate will be heavily involved in every aspect of the design process from feasibility analysis to the planning and development of planning application drawings on a myriad of residential projects in the East of England.

 

Some of what you will be doing:

  • Interpreting an agreed site brief and producing detailed, commercially viable, sketches and studies
  • Producing and compiling planning application drawings including, but not limited to, house types, external works layouts and external materials schedules
  • Overseeing end-to-end design proposals, from producing initial freehand sketches of designs, digitalising them using CAD software and producing design proposal presentations
  • Ensuring all designs adhere to planning policies/regulations and design guides and preparing appropriate design codes

 

A bit about you:

  • 5+ years working in the residential design industry, either for a residential developer or an architectural form specialising in residential design
  • A strong understanding of urban design and the role of placemaking
  • Impeccable CAD skills including, but not limited to, the use of AutoCAD, Revit and Photoshop
  • Comfortable working individually and taking responsibility for your own projects as well as capable of working collaboratively within the wider design team
  • Passionate about design and eager to join an award-winning, multi-talented design team
  • Exceptional oral and visual communication skills
  • Full UK driver's license
