What to expect from Apple’s new iPhone 12
In the last 24 hours, Apple has announced the release date for its latest line of next level iPhones – the iPhone 12.
After a long wait for the industry, Apple unveiled their new and improved ranges of the iPhone 12 which include the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Mini and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Talk about variety!
Here’s what you need to know without having to endlessly scroll down any Apple pages.
To start, Apple’s virtual October event saw the announcement of the iPhones’ new compatibility with 5G technology for the very first time – enabling super-fast download and browsing speeds.
The finishes available on the iPhone 12 and 12 Mini are white, black, blue, green and red and can be paired with the new selection of MagSafe cases and wallets so you can be extra stylish.
Further design details for the iPhone 12 include a display size of 6.1 inch, an aluminium framing, a stronger glass backing, a more durable screen using new Ceramic Shield technology and less curved edges – more reminiscent of the iPhone 5S, as well as claiming to be 11% thinner, 15% smaller and 16% lighter than previous iPhone models.
Spec-wise, these iPhones are powered by the A14 Bionic chipset which Apple claims to be 40% more powerful than the iPhone 11’s A13 chipset. Storage model sizes hold either 64GB, 128GB or 256GB and iOS 14 will already be installed on all phones.
Now for the camera. Like the iPhone 11, the iPhone 12 comes with a dual rear camera housing an f/1.6 aperture, 12MP wide and an f/2.4 aperture ultra-wide shooter with a 27% improvement on low-light capturing. New Smart HDR 3 technology allows users to capture advanced features such as texture and skin tone, bringing out more detail in the subject.
No news as of yet regarding the battery, however they will be compatible with Fast-Charging cables (sold separately).
To put Apple’s impressive claims to the test, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models will be available to pre-order on October 16th, and released on October 23rd. iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max can be pre-ordered from November 3rd and released on November 13th.
